PSYD_03_2026: Associations Between Cannabis Use, Medial Temporal Lobe Structure and Clinical Outcomes in Clinical High-RIsk Psychosis

Short Summary/Abstract:

This study investigates whether medial temporal lobe (MTL) abnormalities, particularly hippocampal structure, mediate the relationship between cannabis use and clinical outcomes in individuals at Clinical High Risk for psychosis (CHR-P). Using structural T1 MRI and clinical data from the PsyShareD database, the project will examine associations between cannabis use, MTL anatomy, and outcomes such as transition to psychosis, functional impairment, and symptom persistence. MRI data will be processed with FreeSurfer, and regression and mediation analyses will be used to identify potential neuroanatomical pathways linking cannabis use to adverse outcomes in CHR-P populations.
